WELCOME TO
CABO DA ROCA

Climbing the coastal routes of Cabo da Roca is, in essence, a self-reversing tribute: an opportunity to engage with climbing history while celebrating a unique cultural and outdoor experience.

Fernando Pereira

If there is a list of must-see places in this world, Cabo da Roca will undoubtedly be in it.

It's impossible to remain indifferent to the natural spectacle offered by Europe's westernmost point.

The place "where the land ends and the sea begins," the place where the Atlantic stretches to the horizon, is a wild territory of steep cliffs, eternally battered by colossal waves pushed by the ocean.

The sly vegetation is forced by the strong and frequent winds to creep, rising only in slightly more sheltered corners.

Along these green slopes, small trails, formed by generations of fishermen, wind along.

These trails eventually die out in vertical precipices of fire-colored granite, which, in turn, hold another kind of path, more difficult and invisible.

Climbing these winding itineraries in unsettling ways, sometimes athletic, sometimes technical, we discover a world different from the usual.

Despite the high number of short routes, we will very rarely "collect" a wide range of routes during a day's visit.

Free climbing is the dominant theme, and there is no shortage of challenging routes for those who enjoy difficulty and strenuous activity.

However, even for the most experienced climber, the greatest challenge lies in trying to reduce the psychological impact caused by the inherent forces of nature.

In short, climbing in this rugged red rock territory can be explained in two words:

AMBIANCE  & ADVENTURE
