Baia Estreita
Baia Estreita is a tall, narrow cove known for its demanding slab climbing such as Dusolo or Mousse de Chocolate, challenging sport routes such as És muita Linda , and impressive adventure lines like Zabi.
HOW TO GET THERE
From Cascais or Sintra, follow EN 247 towards Cabo da Roca. Just before Azóia village, take a left onto a dirt road marked by a sign for "Café/Bar D. Quixote." After passing an old abandoned football field on your right, take the left road and follow signs to "Casa da Pirolita." Park at the large parking area near Casa da Pirolita.
From there, head on foot along a trail starting at the right side of the gate of Casa da Pirolita, following the property wall. Descend along the north side wall of Pirolita house until you reach a headland with a great view. Then, take the obvious trail that follows the coastline northwards.
APPROACH
You can abseil down from the Du Solo route to descend during high tide. Alternatively, during low tide, you can approach by walking from the south side, coming from Boulder Azul.
COMMENTS
Best to climb the amazing slabs in the summer morning shade or during cold winter days. A rockfall destroyed some routes in the Viking sector. The crimping testpiece És muita linda, opened by Paulo Gorjão, features a small runout in the middle that can be mitigated by placing a cam in the wide gap. Francisco Ataíde added a harder start—a left-to-right traverse—that is still waiting for a first free ascent.

Good, some routes rebolted by Rui Rosado in 2024.

January 1st to July 14th - a maximum of 4 climbers is allowed in this sector; July 15th to December 31th- a maximum of 10 climbers is allowed in this sector.
