Pirâmide de Alvidrar
This stunning pyramid-shaped rock rises like a gleaming diamond from the ocean. It was first climbed sometime in the 1980s, by Henrique Cabreira and another unknown climber, and was finally repeated by Rui Rosado and Gonçalo Morais on July 1, 2025. At the top of the pyramid, you can still see an old piece of rope used as an abseil anchor by the first ascent party. A new bolted belay was added in 2025.
HOW TO GET THERE
Drive to Praia da Adraga (near Almoçageme) and park in the large beach parking lot by the restaurant. The lot is located just before the end of the road and is paid during the summer months.
APPROACH
Park at Praia da Adraga, or if you have an off-road vehicle, take the dirt road to Fojo da Adraga and park on the cliffs above Fojo da Adraga.
COMMENTS
Climb with double ropes (60m). Abseiling is possible with just one rope, which helps prevent knots from getting stuck in cracks when pulling the ropes. The descent consists of two 30-meter abseils on 316L bolts with rings.
Bolts condition
A piton was placed on the second dihedral near the top of the route, but it has likely corroded away by now. In 2025, two 316L stainless steel lower-off anchors were installed.
Route height
70 m aprox.
Restrictions
No restrictions.
